Re: 760 Won't reverse 700 1990

Larry: are you 1,000% sure about correctly attaching the kickdown cable inside the transmission? it's a 3-handed job, or so it seems; I would worry (easy for me to say!), that it's not attached correctly. The throttle-end of it should be able to be pulled +/- 3/4" to 1" sideways, then snap back, without looking like it's got any slack: not TAUT, but no slack. Try adjusting THAT end of it first, I'm sure you know that it's a lot easier than getting at the tranny end of it. I know that it has to be positioned 'just so' inside, and that it's a **tch to seat it properly. The only other thing that I can think oif is having another beer....oops, is that the rear seal isn't in straight, or the pilot bearing, or the flexplate, flywheel,...hey, thems more than ONE thing! Now, where's that beer...--PD (All disclaimers apply. Just as you would not drink and drive, don't drink and DIY. And when I'm under a car, it's supported and chocked 6 ways from Sunday, and I'm never alone...and it's got NUTHIN to do with still bein' ascared o' the dark!.)
