Add on tach 200 1987

i'm interested in adding on a tach to my 240. I've been looking on ebay and i've seen two options. . .the large main tach and small clock, and the small accessory tach. Is either choice extremely difficult? Does anyone have instructions for either? I don't want to be tearing apart my entire dash just to do this. I've heard that my 240 is pre-wired for the tach, is this true? From what i've seen, the large tach/small clock option seems to be cheaper, probably due to the rarity of the small tach.

one other thing. . .i've seen several 260 accessory tach's on ebay. while i understand that these cannot be directly swapped into my car, can they be modified to work with the 4-cylinder engine? they are considerably cheaper ($15 as opposed to $60)
