Hoses 120-130 65

I just put a 73 B20 into my 1965 122S. It has a one piece, two hole outlet manifold with the 3 bolt SU carbs. I’m not sure how to run the hoses. After experimenting, the engine runs the best with the engine block hose (no pcv valve) running to the air filter inlet, both manifold pipes plugged, and a breather cap with no hole. Is this correct? Also, is there anything you can use to plug the hole if you remove the cold start valve? I would appreciate any help you could give me.
