Hi,

I have just finished wiring my 940GLE, 1991, 16 valve (auto trans.) with cruise control. I've got hella brand cruise control unit in my car and it has 9 pin set up it works fine. But this is only a temporary measure as I am waiting for a 14 pin replacement cruise control unit from the dealer who sold me the stuffs (from US).

I don't know the set-up for 200 series but for 700 and 900 series the followings are the shoping lists:-

1) turn signal stalk with cruise ON/OFF/RESUME switch.

2) vacumm delete switch (for brake pedal)

3) another delete switch (for manual trans. only)

4) brackets to hold the delete switches

5) 9 pin cruise control unit (CRUISE ECU/ some calls it cruise relay)

6) Vacumm pump motor

7) 'T' shape vacumm connector

8) hoses from delete switch to 'T' shape, and from 'T' to servo

9) vacumm servo with mounting bracket

10) 3 grooves throttle spool

Make sure your car is pre-wired for cruise. If it is not, like mine, then you need to wire the parts yourself. If you need the wiring diagrams, I can e-mail it to you. The wiring is pretty much straight forward for 9 pin cruise unit. But the problem is how to determine the cruise unit is working. So a working cruise unit readly available (or you have access to it) might be a good idea.

I got into trouble because mine did not work (the 14 pin unit). Had a hard time to determine what went wrong. After complete wiring check it was the cruise unit that was out of order. Got a temporary 9 pin unit to confirm this. I got a lot of assistance from a lot of people from this board so with that experiance I think I can safely assist you in this.
