Re: Big Mistake Jacking Up 240 200 1988

I made a foolish mistake today. ANdd I'm not sure how much damage I caused. I was jacking the car up for maintenance and wanted to put jack-stands in the reinforcement points(steel bars for jack). I placed the jack on the round hub next to the bars so I couldd raise it with a scissor-jack. Unfortunately it was a weak spot and broke through. From what I can tell, there is a round silver plate inside with wires. I did what I could to patch it up with a plastic piece and used a lot of rubberized spray.

I know I dented it and have no idea what that part is for. Both sides of the front reinforcement jack areas have this round hub right next to it. It looked study enough...trust me it wasn't.

Anybody done this goof before or know what I broke into??? Please respons as I am getting gray hair over this.
