???Faulty Power Stage??? '87 760T 700 1987

I recently picked up am 87 760T w/ 125,000mi for a few hundred bucks. Wouldnt start... no spark. Included with the car was a 30 page ignition system troubleshooting guide from 'ALLDATA'. I have been through some diagnostics: no spark, no spark at coil, coil resistance is in spec, hall effect switch IS functional and sending correct voltages to control computer. 2 volt signal is being sent to Power Stage from ignition control computer, (ALLDATA says 2 volts). Has anyone seen a Power Stage go faulty?, is there some test I can perform to be sure. Any other tips???

Previous owner stated that the car started to die occasionally and was difficult to start and then it just quit.

thanks,

Matt
