Re: Ball Joint Replacement 240-260 1980

ICQ>

Phil,

I'm a DIY'er and I've just recently replaced mine with MOOG replacements

that I got from a local parts house,They had the the new bolts for the control

arm,but not the 4 small strut bolts.I just reused mine.Just put loctite on

them and they hold fine..I've had these bolts out numerous times and they

always stay tight. As far as a procedure goes, its pretty straight forward.

Remove the 3 control arm bolts,then remove the 4 strut bolts,then you'll

need to seperate the strut base from the ball joint.I used a ball joint fork.

Then assemble the new balljoint to the strut base, use the new bolts for the

control arm,put loctite on the strut bolts and torque them in.Clean up and

have a beer.BTW use jack stands and don't have weight on the control arms..

Good Luck....
