M41 swap 1800 71

My problem is similar to one that I have been reading about but different enuf to start a new thread.

I am putting my '71E back together after a 1.5 year long Rebuild. The tranny was taken to my buddy's transmission shop, stripped down and pronounced unrebuildable. So... they found me another to use ase my "core" ...an M41 from a 71 142....Great, I thought! but now that I have everything rebuilt and back in...the flanges are not the same diameter (the 1800E's is larger )....

AND the D/Shaft is not reaching the rear flange of the o/d by a good 3/4".

I assume I have to get the rear flange from an M41 out of a 1800...

Unfortunately mine got scrapped, inadvertantly.

Is this going to fix the length problem too?

Does anyone know where I can get one?

Thanks

Bill
