Bruce,
Don't waste your time with easyout, etc. Start with a small drillbit, 1/8 or preferably smaller, and progressively work your way up, being careful not to drill too far and get into the waterjacket (in which case shoot yourself), until you are to the drill bit just a hair smaller than the stud itself. Use an old stud, a new stud , or the broken off stub to know when you have reached the correct size by holding the non buisness end of the bit up to the stud. Then use a pair of needle nose pliers to try to grab the very edge of the threads and pull the s.o.b out a like a slinky, in one solid piece. It is important to try to drill as dead center as possible. The stud will drill out far easier than you think. And any time wasted with easy outs etc. is time you could have spent drilling it out, which is what you will wind up doing anyway. You see, I just went thru this last week, wasted 2 hours screwing around, when I should have drilled it. The problem is the steel threaded into aluminum. Unless You broke it off while tightening it, then maybe it will come out with some kind of screw extractor, and pb'laster or kroil penetrating oil.
