Help surging engine! 200 1990

Hello fellow bricksters,

I had a problem with my 90'240 surging when in park or at a stoplight. The car would seem like it was going to take off if you don't hold your foot down on the brake. Today I popped the hood to observe what the culprit could be and I noticed that the vaccuum line connected to the fuel pressure regulator was split open. I could hear a hissing sound coming from the hose. I cut the split end off and reconnected the hose and the car is not surging anymore. If anyone out there has had a similar situation please post and let me know. I thought the problem had to be the Amm because the car is also hard to start sometimes. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
