fuel smell 700 90

During warm weather my 740 has a fuel smell INSIDE the car. I had the fuel pumps (both) and filter replaced two years ago and the car has about 200K on it. It did have a accident involving the left rear panel (where the fuel fill is). The problem goes away in the winter. I have checked the vent lines and they seem to be hooked up fine. I have stopped the car before, lifted the hood and smelled around the fuel hoses (original) and I smell nothing. Any suggestions?
