Do I have to change engine oil every time I run Techron? Richard, in your post in the thread below regarding valve lifter noise you recommend Techron and Mobil 1 motor oil to keep 960 valve lifters clean. Recently, my 960 ran rich (probably, FPR now replaced) and I would like to run some Techron to clean everything up. Sparkplugs looked like they had been dipped in burnt sugar caramel. I would prefer to clean fuel injectors (and everything else) with Techron rather than send them out to www.rceng.com That is, if I can get away with it. I have nothing against RC guys. Rather, I prefer less labor and trouble to more, but Volvo TSB says clean injectors every 30,000. I think somewhere in 700/900 FAQ someone cautions against Techron in oil sump and recommends an oil change everytime you use Techron. What do you say high priests and mullah of Volvo? Best regards to you all.
