"Crunchy" acceleration 700 88

This is a little hard to describe, but here goes.

When I accelerate from a stop about 1 in 5 times I will feel a slight crunchy-not-quite-gripping feeling that lasts for about 1/2 a second. I do not know what is causing this. Is it perhaps the clutch or is it something in the transmission. I just had the timming belt replaced and I replaced all the belts about 100 miles ago.

Also, the car feels like it is hesitating when I dont rev it at acceleration. I replaced the fuel filter and it got better for about a week and now it is doing it agian.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys!
