replace the rustbucket '83 with a '75? 200 83

So I have this rustbucket 245. It was a gift. The PO loves volvos, as I do, and felt I would give it a good retirement home. In fact, she comes over to my house to help me work on it. So I drive it.

I read an ad on the classifieds at work - "1975 245, needs fuel pump, some TLC, $100".

If this is a west coast car, and has no rust, and not an insane number of miles on it, I am considering buying it.

Question - will there be any parts commanality between the 2 cars? Could the strong engine/tranny from the '83 go into the '75? Or would I just have 2 older 245s that would need work to keep running? And insurance on both?

ANy my wife is threatening me not to bring home 1 3rd volvo...
