Fan On but Engine Off 700 92

I have a 1992 740 Turbo wagon. Yesterday I pulled in front of my apt, put the car in park and tuned the engine off. Much to my surprise I heard the hum of a fan motor coming from under the hood. I have never heard this noise before--did I mention the engine was completely off?? All day today the problem continued--the hum seems to stay on for about two minutes after the engine is off. I also noticed that there is a tiny bit of anti-freeze dripping from underneath the car (toward the front). I'm totally baffled. The car seems to be driving fine but I'm worried. Should I take the car in and have it looked at? Anyone know what this might be? Why would this noise start all of a sudden? Help o' wise Volvo owners!
