Filled carb with fluid, but leaked into fuel/air 200 81

Hello - I just filled the damper cylinder of the SU carburetor on my 81 245 DL, with automatic tranny fluid, as it was bone dry. I kept filling it up as the level dropped, but i started getting suspicious after a minute or two of this, and i think instead it was just leaking right into the fuel or airlines or such. Now i'm just blowing white smoke like crazy out of the tailpipe...

Anybody have experience with this? Is it a particular carb leak - should i clean this stuff out somehow?

Thanks,

Andrew
