Radio replacement 700 1990

I have a 1990 760 Turbo 161,000(love the car, worst I ever had..... a plymouth acclaim) I need to replace the often on the blink radio and the clicking amp under the dash. I am thinking about installing a DIN unit where the receiver is but this leaves me with what to do with the tape deck directly underneath the radio receiver. Crutchfield says you can get a cubby hole thing to go in its place.

I am also curious how the amp under the drivers side dash will work (or not)with the new unit. I was think of using a blaupaundk (spelling not my strong point).

Any ideas appreciated. You guys are great.

Steve
