240dl oil gusher 200 84

Hello everyone,

I've just bought a 240 dl four days ago, yesterday it started gushing oil out from behind the crankshaft pulley (harmonic balancer?), I removed the timing cover to find that the oil is coming from the pulley above it (drives the intermediate shaft, distributor etc)I removed this pulley to find the oil seal had come out of it's recess. What I'd like to know is, is there supposed to be something securing this oil seal in place, like a sleeve or a circlip perhaps? I'm very new to this world of bricks and would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.
