odd rear-end feel 740-760 90

everytime i take off from a dead start in my '90 740GLE i get this strange feel from the trunk area like something big shifting wait and rolling to the back of the trunk. the trunk is empty so i'm assuming it's something with the rear-end. it's kinda like a brrrrrump. i can't wait 'til i hear back from the brickheads on this one. any takers?
