Speakers for back seat of 245 200 89

Has anyone out there ever installed a pair of 4"-5" speakers in the rear seat area of their brick. I saw an '86 or '87 245 with speakers installed on the sides of the car near rear seat uprights (not on the doors). Currently my '89 has a tan plastic cover that extends to the top of the window to the wheel well, with no punchout for a speaker. Any words of wisdom?

In my other brick, I installed 6 X 9 Sony's in the rear (on the sides of the removable compartment covers). The sound improvement was dramatic. THis time I am thinking of have a 6 speaker system. The front door speakers have been replaced with a little bit of modification. Thanks!
