Re: 745 power locks - operate tailgate? 200

with the masterkey (large head) you can lock the tailgate at the

tailgate 2 ways.(Im not sure which side does what; so check both ways)

when you turn the key to the right or to the left, the tailgate is locked.

when you unlock the driversdoor and the power locks open all doors,

it will only unlock the tailgate if you have it in "MASTER" mode.

if the tailgate lock is in "VALET" mode, the power door locks activated

at the drivers door will not unlock the tailgate.

(the part I don't remember is locking which way at the tailgate is

"MASTER" and which way is "VALET")

This way you can lock your valuables in the gully of the cargoarea, lock

the tailgate in "MASTER" mode, go dining in a fancy restaurant, give

the parking attendant the valet key (small head), he can open the

driver's door and powerlock the other doors, but the tailgate stays

locked and he can not get to the goodies in the cargoarea storage or

the glovebox (if you locked it with the master key before).

both valet and master key will start the car too!

hope this helps....there may not be anything wrong with the wires/motors
