Can I support the tranny with a jack if car is on ramps?? 200 87

Hello all-

I have an '87 245 with 172K. My shifter was bobbing so I had the motor mounts replaced. Turns out that one was broken anyway. The bobbing had subsided, but has now returned but not as bad. Obviously the tranny mount is probably bad. I'm noticing some driveline vibration now as well, so I'm going to try and fix this ASAP. All I have is drive up ramps. Can I use a floor jack to support the tranny at such an angle? I know the repair is easy, but if I can't do it on ramps, I'll have to have a mechanic do it because I'm not about to put my car on jackstands in the street. Thanks in advance!
