I've got an 82 244 with LH injection and it's running very badly. It idles really rough so that the whole car shakes(I get jiggy at stoplights) and it's really down on power. It wouldn't go much over 60 on my last road trip- it used to cruise at 80 just fine. It's had intermittent symptoms; the worst was when it would bog down when I tried to accelerate- I had to really pump the pedal to get it to go anywhere at all. It's not doing this so much lately, though. It's mostly just all around slow. It's had some other intermittent symptoms like really bad gas mileage, stalling when cold, and backfiring. Now the engine shakes so much that I'm wondering if it's running on 3 cylinders. I've replaced the AMM with a supposedly good used one, removed the air intake system and tested all of the coolant sensors, and removed the engine wiring harness and checked it over (suprisingly good) and patched up a few places. I also replaced the air filter and cap and rotor. I checked the spray patterns of each of the injectors and the all look fine. I had a Volvo shop check the fuel pressure and test for vacuum leaks and those were both ok, though they said that it was running really lean and not putting out as much CO as it should. I don't understand how it could run lean and get bad gas mileage. The guys at the shop said that the next things to try would be replacing the fuel injectors and ECU, but unfortunately I can't find any of these with numbers that match mine. Does anyone have any other ideas or advice? I'm going to leave on a 1000 mile trip to Colorado soon and I'd really like to get this fixed. Thanks a lot.
