Air Conditioning Problem? 200 1992

I had my car converted to the new freon. Ever since it hasn't been as cold...but it still gets pretty cold (I am told that the new freon isn't that efficient vs. the old stuff) and sometimes makes a soft hissing sound--similar to the sound when you turn any air conditioner on. I had it checked by the dealer for leaks and they put dye in the system. They didn't find any. Since these air-conditioning systems cost a ton--I just want some reassurance that I am not ruining it by using it. Am I? Thanks in advance.
