Tie Rods, etc... 700 1989

My steering and suspension was inspected when getting new tires and it was determined that one inner tie rod and the opposite side ball joint needed replacing. I was thinking that I would replace the Tie Rods, ends and ball joints on both sides while I'm down there. Is this the best idea? Or should I just do the 2 parts that appear to need replacing? Also, is there any reason I wouldn't be able to perform this replacement myself, then have the alignment done at a shop?

Hints, tips? Thanks!
