Re: Seeking advice on reading Motronic 1.8 DTCs! 900 95

Ok, I think this is the info. you guys are looking for...

The Diagnostic terminal is a black box about 1" by 1.5" located on the driver's side strut tower. There are two boxes, you want the box located closes to the front of the car. Here is a link to the 700 FAQ that tells you how to retrieve the codes...this is for a LH 2.4 equipped car, but the process is still the same. Make sure you put the lead into socket "2" as this is the Motronic diagnostic socket. Socket "1" is for the auto tranny and "3" is for the ABS.

Once you pull the fault codes, someone else will have to tell you what the codes mean b/c I'm at work and don't have my book with me.

When we find out what the codes are, we can go from there... Chances are, though, the codes are just going to be a byproduct of whatever mechanical problem is causing the low compression in the #5 cylinder.
