Radio Repair 700 90

I have an original tape/radio model TD6141 which has become flaky -- the tape often doesn't work, sometimes all the lights come on then go off, and it stops altogether until some time later.

I talked to the dealer about refurbished or replacement, but the price is amazing.

Has anyone had any luck/experience with repairs? Does anyone know who actually made the unit? The dealer thought it was either Pioneer or more likely Apline.

Does anyone have any experience with a brand/model to replace it with in another maker like Sony/Pioneer/Blaupunkt?
