Rear defogger and wiper gremlins?? 200 '84 D24

Howdy Y'all,

Hadn't had any problems in a while, but I got one now. 'Tain't a bigun, but it's got me a'scratchin' m'head.

I'll be moseyin' down th' road and all of a sudden, for no reason I can figure, the indicator light in the rear window defogger switch will come on and the rear wiper will activate for one swipe and that's it. BUT the indicator light will stay on indefinitely. If I turn off the key and then start 'er up again, it'll be out, just like it's supposed to be.

Any ideas, y'all. Much obliged!!

By the way, if any y'all live somewhat close to me or know someone who does (I'm in Lubbock--yes, it's in the US--Texas) and know where I can pick up some previously-owned diesel parts (engine parts mainly, like injectors, fuel pumps, heads, starters-have to be 2kW, and so on) for this here buggy, give me a line or two and tell me where I can contact the folks. I have found some stuff, but it's all several days ride from my place. Some closer ones would be better. I'll eventually get to the farther ones, but m'horse is plumb tuckered fer a bit here. 'Preciate it. Take care now, y'hear?
