140/240 similarities 140-160

I have a 1982 242 turbo, and I like it ok... however I've always liked the exterior styling of a chrome-bumpered 142 a little better. So... these may be a crazy questions, but here goes:

Is it a practical possibility to put an engine/tranny from a 240 (in particular: B21FT/M46) into a 142?

How similar are the suspensions & brakes in the two cars?

Will a 242 dash (and other interior components) install into a 142 without absolutely redesigning the entire car?

Thanks for any info.
