Re: Factory Boost Setting 700

The spec lists the charge pressure at full load, 3000rpm as 7.4psi.

However, the boost control system on the 700 series is a bit different. The accessory "Turbo+" kit is the equivalent of the earlier "IBS" on the 240 turbos. But the control is tied in with several things including the knock sensor (but not in the same way as the Saab APC system) and the rpm. Rather than a simple on/off bleed valve, it is a variable control and seems to allow a max boost of around 12 to 14 psi if I can believe my gage - but you only get this under ideal conditions - nice cool ambient temps, etc. On a hot muggy summer day the max boost I see is more like 10 or 11 psi.
