Michael,
That hot/burning rubbery smell is normally associated with hot dry anti-freeze. You may have a slight weep at the heater control valve, at a hose connection or in the heater core itself. These leaks are sometimes self-sealing and the smell will go away after all the anti-freeze residue has burned off. If the smell continues then go looking for leaks. Don't bother trying any "stop rad leak" snake oil -fix it properly.
As for your wet floor, where was the source? In dealing with a wet 740 front passenger carpet the other week I eventually traced my problem to the plastic collar on top of the air intake directly above the fan (under the cowelling). Had to re-seal the top of the neck and the plastic cover pan that goes above it. What with Al Nimo supplying copious quantities of liquid sunshine here in the Pacific Northwest it's been a real test of water tightness this fall (just ask Paul S. in Seattle).
To get rid of the must smell, start by thoroughly drying out the carpet. This is easiest if you pull that section of carpet right out. Treat with some spray carpet cleaner/deodorizer. I don't know if you've got dense foam or a composite floor liner, but unless it's turned to mush you'll probably only destroy it if you try to remove it. Try sucking out the excess moisture with a wet/dry shop vac. Wipe the floor area with diluted bleach to kill the mold and dry thoroughly before re-installing the carpet. I pointed a heat lamp on it overnight -watch you don't melt/scorch anything or start a fire.
