Whoops...I didn't say they were prone to failure. It is just that my 1990 240 has needed more lighting and accessory system electrical repairs than anything else. And required more electrical system repairs that all 5 of the American and Japanese cars I have owned prior to and concurrent with this one put together. Engine electrical has been good, excepting the ECU, which failed before 100K. I recommend you take electrical goodies into consideration. The 240 model ended in 1993, so if they didn't have the bugs worked out by then, well....

Electrical system fixes can be accomplished. It is just that they can be annoying when they occur, like electric sunroof switch failure when it's raining. That sort of thing. Hope you get more feedback. Good luck...
