Re: trunk leak 200 86

Check the rubber seal around the trunk lip for gaps and staining, (mark of an overflow condition), also check the drain hoses if you have a sunroof...if they get clogged below the floor the water backs up and leaks from the Y junction..

Also check the rear window rubber seal/channel...this may involve putting a body in der thunk with a flashlight and application lots of waterto the entire rear window seal (a 2 hose job)...

Another possibolity could be a seam failure or rust out behind the rear seat and over the rear axle/wheel arch area...then the water would splash up and be absorbed by the carpet..
