Rear wiper problems 200 1983

I recently posted a message about my continously running rear wipers. I have replaced the motor (the old one was dead) and the stalk switch. I suspected the relay and my suspicions were supported by Don and Paul. After replacing the relay, however, the problem is still there. I have tried disconnecting the relay and the stalk switch and the wipers continue to operate. Only when I disconnect the wires at fuse #1 do they stop. I tried to verify continuity between the gray wire coming out of the relay (going to the motor according to the schematics) and the gray wire at the motor and they do not seem to be the same wire. I also tried inverting the wires at the motor but the motor still runs continously. Is there something else I could do?

Thanks in advance.
