88-90 760 used brass keys and the keys wear and leave debris in lock cylinder. You should be able to get key out with a little bit of wd-40 sprayed inside. Then go get new keys from a volvo dealer who will have to order them and they will come to you as steel keys. A 90 has no shifter lock related to ignition lock so Lavesh's experience was an accident.
