Re: Vent window lock 140-160 1969

IPD has a clip-on window latch for about $5.

Not real fancy, but it works.

I have used epoxies (slow cure) with somewhat

better success than crazy gloo. You have

to take the pin out of the handle and remove

the stub to clamp it to the glass with a small

C-clamp. Be sure location and orientation are

right or you'll lock it in the unlocked position!

Glass MUST be clean and dry, likewise stub.

I used 240 grit wetordry on the stub face till

it cleaned up. Lasts a couple or 3 years,

which is not much considering I've had the

care since 1971. Maybe that is why

they discontinued the vent window.

You CANNOT drill this tempered window.

It comes out with no pieces bigger than

about 5/16" as soon as you drill through

the tempered layer, even using a fine

diamond core drill.
