Re: kickdown cable (again) 200 1987

The downshift cable on my daughter's 240 was sticking and was told I needed a new one. Being the cheapie that I am, I disconnected the cable from its mounting and held it verticle while I slowly applied sewing machine oil. It took lots of sewing machine oil. I worked it a few minutes and added more sewing machine oil. I works great. Give it a try before buying a new one.
