rear "shimmy" 700 89

Curiosity has struck again. I have noticed when driving 700 series sedans and a 780 that there is a peculiar "shimmy" in the rear end when accelerating from a stop. I have heard various ideas about what is going on. I have the independent rear suspension on my car and the FAQ said the CV joints may be going bad. Not likely, they are new. Another said the bearings may need to be shimmed (I think). My uncle has a 87 740Ti and it does the same thing, as did the 90 780 bertone I drove. Any other ideas? The car drives great and always has, just curious about what may be going on.

Jeff
