fuel pump starting late 700 1988

Hi Ladies and Gents,

I really need your help with this one. I have a 760 GLE that starts well, but almost dies while the engine heats in the first 5 minutes of driving. Now, I've replaced both pumps and the main pump's relay with brand new parts. One pump is dying, the car loses power which makes it for annoying driving and sometimes quite dangerous left turns. The pump comes back when the engine is hot (oil temperature indicates middle of dial) in 60% of cases only. The other 40%, I have to shut off the engine and immediately restart. Then both pumps are working and the car is flying. I've already spend a lot of money in computer time at the service, but they couldn't find anything else. I was thinking perhaps a bad temperature sensor ? Nobody here in town seems to know. I would appreciate any help in this matter. Perhaps some of you had similar problems.
