Correct block heater for 240? 200 1989

I'm having some trouble getting the correct block heater for my '89 volvo 240 2.3. The brand I have is "KATS" (10401) . The parts store show this one should be installed in the right front frost plug at 9:00. There's no way this one will work. Hits the cylinder wall. Anyone else have any trouble getting the correct one? Even called KATS directly they insist it should work. Also, do I have a B230 or B234 in my station wagon? Thanks for all your assistance. Bill
