How to replace water pump seals?????? 700 1989

Hey there, I recently have purchased both seals for the water pump, and a new valve cover gasket. My question is, what is the proper procedure for replacing the seals for the water pump. The valve cover gasket, seems relatively simple. Just remove the cover, and put in the new gasket, and rescrew the cap in place. The water pump seems a bit more trickey. Any help would be most appreciated.
