Smoke on Start... alot... 200 88

1988 240 stock

more so when starting on a HOT day...

when its hotter i have to crank the engine maybe 3-4 whole seconds to fire it, and thats giving it gas...

i sometimes smell smoke and see a little, i think little of it... but today i watched my frend start it from my window and was terrified, ofcourse today was HOT, and he musta cranked it for 5 seconds before it started, after the tailpiped stopped juttering up and down it spit a good amount of white smoke, i wouldnt know how to measure smoke, but imagine a "volvo 240, of smoke" came out of my tailpipe and than it went clear...

whats up? i think this is a recent problem... and my personal social standards PREVENT at all costs me being that guy whos spitting smoke on the street somewhere! id just die! The engine seems to run normal, my idle was pretty weak recently, but i uped it as some bricksters recomended rpm levels, and its fine now, i JUST began thinking, if even for a week, that my car was FINALLY in good working order! now this... help!

Thanks in advance!
