Re: Tie rods-Replaceable? 200 1991

It's pretty easy to replace them. (at least it was easy to get one off in the junkyard Saturday....)

Pop the outter tie rod out of its revceiver.

pull back the big (inside) end of the rubber bellows to reveal the inner tie rod joint.

Fing the washer on the joint with the two metal "flaps" which are bent over the flats of the ball of the rod.

Use a small screw driver and gently tap these upright.

Put an adjustable wrench on the flats and unscrew the inner tie rod. Transfer the bellows and its end pieces to the new rod, etc.
