Fuel Pump Problem!!... 200 1984

Hi all....

I posted a message a couple weeks ago and a couple of you were kind enough to respond to it...mabye you could be so kind as to respond to this one too.

Does anyone know the main symptoms of a faulty fuel pump? I have replaced the fuel filter, air filter, checked for vacuum leaks, installed a new ignition coil and spark plugs (all of which were needed), but nothing has taken care of the fact that my car will barely start and when it does it idles very hesitantly and stalls out after about 10 minutes of idling. I'm afraid to take it out as every time I press the accelerator the car acts as it wants to stall out. Could anyone tell me if this sounds like a faulty fuel pump (external)? Thanks all for any help you can give me!! Please let me know if you need any more info to figure this out. It has the B23F engine if that helps.

Thanks! Brenden ('84 240 gl)
