I can't say with certainty, but I would imagine that the fuel pump relay on an older 240 would be in the same place.

On the passenger side of the firewall, there is generally some carpeting material. Pull that back and a connector will "fall" out with lots of wires connected to it. In fact, someone actually posted a photo of it not too long ago. Search the archives for fuel pump relay, and you're sure to find it.
