transmission output shaft bushing/seal 200 1990

If I push up on the driveshaft where it connects to the transmission, it moves with a thud. I also get a clonk like sound sometimes, when the car starts moving. I have also seen transmission oil around that area.

So I am guessing the seal and maybe the output shaft bushing needs replacement. After reading the FAQ on this sites and the haynes manual, I want to clarify if I need some special tool, to hold the output flange from rotating , or does putting the car into park sufficient to stop the flange rotating while I use a socket to loosen the center bolt?

also do I need a puller to pull the flange out. If so what size pullers do I need or are all pullers standard in size?

Thanks - I am just trying to figure everything out before I start the job.
