Replacing front seals and valve cover gasket 200 1984

Oil has been running down the front of my engine since I bought the car. I cleaned the engine and the flame trap and all was well for awhile. When the oil started running again I figured the front seals were gone. Today I removed the T-belt and the camshaft toothed wheel. When I looked behind the wheel, I could see that the seal wasn't leaking but that the front of the valve cover gasket was leaking at the driver's side corner where the small half-circle part meets the flat head surface. There was no oil on the belt, the toothed wheel, or on the exposed part of the camshaft.I will replace the valve cover gasket but I'm not sure that I need to replace the seals as long as I'm in there. So Here are my questions:

1. Is there any trick to replacing the valve cover gasket?

2. With the valve cover off, is it easy to replace the camshaft seal by removing the front cam bearing cap?

3. If I replace the intermediate shaft and crankshaft seals, I'd like to take off the front seal carrier, replace the seals on the bench, and reinstall the carrier. Is there a problem in getting the carrier with the new seals on over the two shafts at the same time? (Don Foster, if you see this please let me know how you do this.)

Thanks for any help, this is my first seal repair and t-belt replacement.
