I think I solved the problem, so I'll post it here as a matter of record:

While clamping down the new lines I installed to and from the charcoal cannister in the evaporative emissions system, I inadvertantly pinched both closed. After reading my manual twice, I'm still a little fuzzy on how the valve on the top of the cannister works, but I'm guessing that blocking the lines "air bound" my fuel injection system in some way.
