although your 3 spd box is the foundation of a 4 spd, you can't simply attach the OD unit as it requires a whole host of different internal parts. As the other reply indicated, you do an exchange. It will require a shorter driveshaft that you should get from the donor car, as well as the wiring and relay be added from the donor car. Also the shifter linkage rod is shorter on a 4 spd box, so get that too.
