Strut Spring Compressor use tip ALL All

After a very frustrating time working with these 2-piece screw type spring compressors, I was determined to find a better way to get them to serve me.

I had fought with them on the first strut insert change I did. Problem was, when I'd install them over the lowest and top spring cloi, then tighten the bolts, the bolts would run up against, then under the spring seats, stoppng all progress.

Same thing if I reverse their orientation... then the bolts ctch against the spring top plates.

This time it was better.

I clamped the top holder over the spring top plate, not on the upmost coil itself.

This makes a bit of a reach for the compressors -- you must loosen * lengthern them until they almost unbolt altogether. Also, you can't use the safety pin on the top clamp because the coil with the top plate is too thick for that.

Nevertheless, this method leaves the bolt heads clear all the while you are compressing the springs.

Furthermore, you are truly getting the clamping done at the extremes of the spring, not compromising by clamping and compresssing at some second coil in. This makes for a smoother, straighter compression -- the springs won't bend sideways.

And it seems like it doesn't take as much compressing to do the same job. All you need to do is take the pressure off the strut bearing -- until you can wobble it. That's enough cmpression.
